ABOUT DALIA
A marketeer who understands what it takes to run a business.
Hello, I’m Dalia - a freelance marketing consultant based in Norwich, Norfolk.
I help established, owner-led businesses bring more clarity, structure and consistency to their marketing. That might mean working out where to focus, creating a practical marketing plan, managing your social media or providing ongoing support to keep everything moving.
Essentially, I step in when marketing has become another job you are trying to squeeze in around running the business—and give it the time, direction and attention it needs.
I work with businesses across Norfolk and throughout the UK, including clients in London and Manchester.
I’ve been on both sides of the table.
My experience in marketing began while studying Business Management at the University of East Anglia in 2009. Since then, I have created and managed a publishing business and wedding directory, organised more than 11 large-scale events in Norfolk and supported businesses across a wide range of sectors.
Alongside running my own ventures, I worked as a freelance digital marketing and social media manager, helping other small businesses communicate what they do, reach the right people and make better use of their marketing.
That combination of business ownership and client work has shaped the way I approach marketing today.
I understand that marketing cannot sit in isolation. It has to work alongside everything else happening in the business - customers, staff, budgets, deadlines, unexpected problems and the day-to-day demands that constantly compete for your attention.
Having run businesses myself, I also know how frustrating it can be to invest time or money in marketing without knowing whether you are focusing on the right things.
My role is to help you cut through that uncertainty, make sensible decisions and turn your ideas into something practical.
What that means for you
I am naturally curious and tend to ask plenty of questions at the beginning of a project. I want to understand how the business works, where you want to take it and what is currently getting in the way.
From there, I can usually get up to speed quickly, spot connections and identify where your marketing needs more focus.
Some clients bring me in to create a clear strategy. Others need someone to take ownership of their ongoing marketing, manage their social media or work alongside an existing team.
Whatever the arrangement, you will receive experienced, practical support that fits the business you actually run—not a generic package based on what somebody thinks every small business should be doing.
There will be no 40-page strategy that sits unread in a folder. No unnecessary jargon. No recommendations for the sake of making the plan look impressive.
You will understand what we are doing, why we are doing it and what needs to happen next.
How I work
-
Marketing can quickly become crowded with acronyms, buzzwords and overcomplicated explanations.
I use normal, everyday language and make sure you understand the thinking behind my recommendations. You should never feel as though you need a marketing qualification to have a conversation with the person managing your marketing.
-
I will always give you my genuine professional opinion—even when that means questioning an idea or suggesting a different route.
That does not mean dismissing what you want to do. It means looking at the wider picture, explaining my reasoning and helping you make a properly informed decision.
You are bringing me into the business for experienced advice, rather than someone who will simply agree with everything.
-
You will know what is included, what I need from you and what you are paying for.
I tailor my support around the needs of each client and will always be upfront if something falls outside the agreed scope or requires additional time.
No unexpected extras and no deliberately confusing packages.
-
The best results come from open communication, mutual trust and feeling comfortable enough to share what is really happening in the business.
I take time to understand my clients, care about the work I produce and treat their reputation with the same attention I would give my own.
You will work directly with me throughout rather than being passed between account managers, strategists and delivery teams.
Who I work best with
Most of my clients are established, owner-led businesses that have reached the point where doing all the marketing themselves is no longer realistic.
You may already have a strong business, loyal customers and a good reputation, but your marketing has become inconsistent or disjointed. There are plenty of ideas, but nobody has enough time to organise them, decide what matters or make sure the work gets done.
You may recognise some of these situations:
Marketing keeps slipping to the bottom of the list.
Different activities are happening without a clear plan connecting them.
Your social media does not reflect the quality of the business.
You have tried several approaches but are unsure what is producing results.
You need experienced marketing input but do not require a full-time employee.
A small internal team needs additional direction, oversight or capacity.
I work particularly well with business owners who want to be involved, value straightforward advice and are looking for someone they can trust to take responsibility for their marketing.
Experience across a wide range of sectors
Over the years, I have supported businesses and organisations across financial services, property, hospitality, recruitment, aesthetics, agriculture, technology and other professional and specialist services.
The subject matter can be very different, but many of the underlying marketing challenges are surprisingly similar: explaining a complicated service clearly, reaching the right audience, creating useful content and maintaining momentum when the people inside the business are already busy.
Working across different industries has made me comfortable getting to grips with unfamiliar or technical subjects. I listen, learn quickly and turn what you know into marketing your customers can understand and relate to.
“People buy from people”
This has always been central to the way I approach marketing.
Your customers want to understand who they are buying from, what you care about and why they should trust you. That is particularly important for owner-led and service-based businesses, where the relationship is often just as important as the service itself.
I will never try to force your business into a generic marketing formula or make you sound like everybody else in your industry.
My job is to draw out what makes the business valuable, find the clearest way to communicate it and make sure the marketing still sounds like you.
GET IN TOUCH
Could I take some of the marketing worries off your plate?
You do not need to arrive with a perfectly formed brief.
Tell me what currently feels messy, inconsistent or difficult to manage. We can have an informal conversation about where the business is now, what kind of support would make the greatest difference and whether I am the right person to provide it.
No pressure and no hard sell - just a straightforward conversation about what you need.
